Buying a Home in Charlottesville

There are many things to consider when starting your home search.  Below are several questions and comments that might be useful as you search for your ideal home in Charlottesville.

  1. If you need financing, talk with your lender and obtian a pre-approval letter from them.  This will help you determine the price range you can afford and/or the mortgage payment in which you are comfortable. If you need some lender recommendations, we will be happy to provide them.
  2. Think about location.  Where will you be working?  Do you have a school district preference?  Where is the closest hospital, grocery store, gym and other places of importance to you?
  3. Do you want to be in a subdivision and have neighbors  or do you prefer your privacy and prefer lots of land around you as a buffer?
  4. If you like subdivisions, do you want to have a Home Owners Association?
  5. How soon do you want to move?  Do you have a home to sell before you can buy?
  6. Hire a great buyer's agent to represent you.  Call, email or text one of our agents!
